The piece

A daishō pair of fuchi-kashira in polished shakudō with sayagata, karakusa and raimon in fine gold inlay; unsigned, attributed to the Owari kinkō, late Edo period.

A daishō set of two fuchi-kashira, unsigned (mumei), which the original seller presents as the work of the Owari kinkō, the soft-metal craftsmen of Owari province, according to its NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper. All four pieces share one design: on a ground of polished black shakudō (migaki-ji), the kashira carry the geometric sayagata pattern across the whole field, framed by a border of scrolling karakusa; the fuchi repeat sayagata, karakusa and a broad raimon in three bands. Everything is drawn in very fine, regular gold-wire inlay (zōgan), with no break in the pattern even within the narrow height of the fuchi (7.9 mm). The tenjō of the fuchi is copper. Declared dimensions: dai, fuchi 38.6 mm and kashira 34.05 mm, 24.3 g; shō, fuchi 38.53 mm and kashira 33.9 mm, 23.4 g. The photographs show an even black patina, the gold fully intact and no knocks or cracks; the inside of the fuchi keeps the dark patina of use. The set comes in a paulownia box with recessed seats for the four pieces. The paper is not shown in the photographs.
