How to buy

Every blade in this catalogue is on sale at a dealer in Japan. We buy it on your behalf, handle the export licence and the shipping, and deliver it to you in Europe. The published price already includes all of that.

The five steps

Enquiry. You write from the record of the piece; its reference travels in the subject line.
Confirmation. These are unique pieces held by third parties, so availability is checked at origin before anything is committed. The answer usually takes one or two working days.
Purchase. Once availability is confirmed, the piece is bought on your behalf and set aside for you.
Export licence. Every antique Japanese sword needs a permit to leave Japan. It takes about a month and a half, and it cannot be hurried.
Shipping and delivery. The blade travels insured and is cleared through customs on arrival. Shipping and import taxes are already in the published price.

What the price includes

The published price covers the piece, shipping from Japan and the import taxes of an antique over a hundred years old. There is nothing to pay on delivery. A piece without a published price at origin reads “price on request”.

Photographs and records

The photographs are the seller’s at origin, and the measurements and papers are what the seller declares. What can be seen in the photographs is described as such, and what cannot be verified is not claimed.
