Description
Unsigned kozuka attributed by the NBTHK paper to Gotō Tokujō, fifth master of the main Gotō line. It shows Daruma crossing the river on a reed leaf (royō Daruma), carved in takabori on a shakudō nanako ground; the patriarch's robe bears circular motifs in gold (iroe), and the reed leaf extends among waves and eddies across the field. The back is a gold-toned plate with diagonal file marks. The photographs show heavily worn nanako in the central area, which appears almost smooth, softened high points and wear to the gold-toned plate at one end, with no cracks or active rust. The paper, number 2010324 and dated 19 December 2023, certifies it as Tokubetsu Hozon Tōsōgu and describes it as royō Daruma-zu kozuka, mumei, den Tokujō, in shakudō nanako-ji with takabori and iroe. According to the original seller, it measures 9.63 × 1.42 cm and comes in a paulownia box.
