Aritsuna

有綱 (Aritsuna)

A Hōki smith of the Heian period, of the school of Yasutsuna; a tachi signed with his name is an important cultural property.

Profile

Aritsuna is one of the smiths of the Ko-Hōki, the early work of Hōki province, and the Japanese Wikipedia counts him among those of the school of Yasutsuna, the first great name of the province. No publishable source says whether he was a direct pupil of Yasutsuna or a relative, nor gives years of work: the Bunka Isan Online entry, from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, places him simply in the Heian period.

A tachi signed «Aritsuna» survives, and it is an important cultural property.
