Profile

Kuninaga worked in the Gojō quarter of Kyoto around the Tengi era (1053-1058), and tradition makes him the son of Gojō Kanenaga, whom the same tradition makes the son of Sanjō Arikuni and the founder of the school at Gojō. He is the leading figure of the Gojō school, and his manner is held to be of a more archaic air than his father's.
