Harima Daijō Shigetaka

Profile

Shigetaka (重高) is a smith of Echizen who signs with the title Harima Daijō (播磨大掾). The wazamono list of the Kaihō Kenjaku, as reproduced by the Japanese Wikipedia, includes the first generation as 播磨大掾重高 (Harima Daijō Shigetaka), with the note 初代 (shodai). One blade is signed on the omote 越前住播磨大掾藤原重高 (Echizen-jū Harima Daijō Fujiwara Shigetaka) and bears on the ura the signature 石見守藤原信仍 (Iwami no Kami Fujiwara Nobuyori), of another smith; the signature does not say which generation he belongs to. The reference works consulted record nothing more about his life or his work.
