Profile

According to Japanese Wikipedia, the first Higo no Kami Kuniyasu (肥後守国康) was the third son of the first Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke and the younger brother of the second Kunisuke, known as Naka-Kawachi; his other brothers were Musashi no Kami Kunitsugu and Ise no Kami Kuniteru. What he did best was the chōji midare temper, and some of his works surpass those of Naka-Kawachi. The Yamada cutting list puts the first generation in the second grade, that of ō-wazamono.
