Profile

Miyata Masatoshi (宮田正寿) forges in Gifu prefecture, where in 2023 he obtained the licence to forge swords. At the NBTHK Exhibition of Contemporary Sword Craftsmen (Gendai Tōshoku-ten) in 2026 he received, in the tantō section, an effort prize in second place and the newcomer prize (shinjin-shō), and in the tachi and katana section he was selected (nyūsen) in first place.
