Profile

Sa Kunihiro (左国弘) is one of the smiths of the Sa school, that of Samonji in Chikuzen, on the island of Kyūshū. Markus Sesko names him, with Yasuyoshi, Yoshisada and Hiroyuki, among the smiths who represent the blade shape of the mid-Nanbokuchō period (1336-1375): large tachi with little taper from base to tip, a thin kasane, a shallow sori and an ō-kissaki.
