Takada Tomoyuki
友行 (Tomoyuki)
A smith of Takada, in Bungo, of the Nanbokuchō, with whom the Takada school begins; a tantō of his from 1364 is an important cultural property.
Profile
Tomoyuki (友行) worked in Takada, in Bungo province, in the Nanbokuchō. Japanese Wikipedia has the Takada school begin with him and relates him to the current of the Sa school, of Chikuzen, without naming a teacher; his works are grouped as Ko-Takada. The same source names among his followers Shigeyuki, whose son Nagamori began to sign with the surname Taira instead of Fujiwara, whence the so-called Taira-Takada.
The Ōyamazumi shrine preserves a tantō signed Fujiwara Tomoyuki, dated the third year of Jōji (1364) and with a dedication to Mishima Daimyōjin, and an unsigned ōdachi attributed to him. The Kotō Taikan reproduces two of his signatures, which name the place Takada.
