The piece

Long katana of the Mishina school of Kyoto, signed by the second-generation Iga no Kami Kinmichi with the imperial chrysanthemum, with Tokubetsu Hozon papers and an uchigatana koshirae with a vermilion saya.

A blade of the Mishina (Sanpin) school of Yamashiro, attributed by the NBTHK papers to the second generation of Iga no Kami Kinmichi, who according to the original seller received the title in Kan'ei 14 (1637) and died in Enpō 8 (1680). Shinogi-zukuri with iori-mune, 74.5 cm nagasa and 1.8 cm sori, broad and with substantial kasane. According to the original seller, itame with abundant ji-nie and masame on the shinogi-ji, a straight Kyoto-style yakidashi opening into notare with gunome, togari-ba, hako-ba and yahazu-ba, and the characteristic bōshi of the school. The tang is ubu, with a single mekugi-ana and a kengyō tip; on the omote it bears the sixteen-petal imperial chrysanthemum above the hole and the signature 伊賀守藤原金道 (Iga no Kami Fujiwara Kinmichi). It comes with an uchigatana koshirae: striped vermilion-lacquered saya, shakudō nanako fuchi-kashira with gold kiri, crane menuki and a pierced iron tsuba signed 肥後住正里 (Higo-jū Masasato), which carries its own Hozon Tōsōgu paper. The original seller also declares a shirasaya. Blade paper: NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Tōken.
