Katana of the Ōsaka shintō school, signed on the omote of the tang 河内守国助 (Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke). The original seller attributes it to the second generation, known as Naka-Kawachi (中河内, Naka-Kawachi), famed for his kobushi-chōji, and places it around the Keian era. Shinogi-zukuri with iori-mune, a wide blade with little taper and an extended chū-kissaki; nagasa 70.6 cm, sori 1.9 cm. According to the original seller, itame forging tightening into ko-itame with abundant ji-nie, and an Ōsaka-style yakidashi leading into gunome, kobushi-chōji and yahazu-ba, with thick nie, ashi, sunagashi and tama-yaki; the photographs show a tall, very active hamon. The tang is ubu, tanago-bara in shape, with one mekugi-ana, ō-sujikai file marks and a kurijiri. It comes with an uchigatana koshirae with a black lacquered saya carved with notches: shakudō fuchi-kashira with a checkered hanabishi and manji pattern, sankozuka-ken menuki, a shakudō tsuba with kiri-mon among karakusa and a gold fukurin, and a tsuka of white same wrapped in raw silk.
