Katana signed by Ōmi Daijō Tadahiro of the Hizen school, with NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Tōken papers, a mounting bearing a mon, and shirasaya.
Katana signed on the tang 肥前国住近江大掾藤原忠広 (Hizen no kuni-jū Ōmi Daijō Fujiwara Tadahiro), the signature of Ōmi Daijō Tadahiro, a central figure of the Hizen school in the shintō period. According to the original seller, he was the son of the first Tadayoshi, received the Ōmi Daijō title in 1641 and worked for some sixty years; the listing places this blade around 1688, in the Genroku era. Nagasa 67.8 cm, sori 1.0 cm, motohaba 3 cm and sakihaba 2.15 cm. The photographs show a bōhi on both sides running into the tang and a chū kissaki. The tang keeps its original end and signature, with the machi moved up (machi-okuri) and three mekugi-ana, two of them plugged. The blade comes with both a mounting and a shirasaya. The mounting, not described by the seller, has a pierced iron tsuba with dragons, gilt dragon menuki, fuchi-kashira bearing a cross-in-circle mon (maru ni jūji), purple ito and a black-lacquered saya.
