Nakago and mei

The signatures on record in the museums are 河内守本行 (Kawachi no Kami Motoyuki) and 刀作人河内守源本行 (tōsakunin Kawachi no Kami Minamoto Motoyuki): the title, sometimes the Minamoto lineage (源, Minamoto) and the word that declares him a swordsmith.

Tsuba

The tsuba in the Tokyo National Museum is round, of iron, and bears an ox, a pine and chrysanthemums engraved in line, the 筋彫 (sujibori) technique. The one in the Edo-Tokyo Museum bears a wood-grain pattern, 杢目文 (mokume-mon).

Kantei keys

None of the sources consulted describes his jihada, his hamon, his bōshi or the shape of his tangs.
