He is known from his signature, 伯耆守十代孫藤原信高 (Hōki no Kami jūdai-mago Fujiwara Nobutaka), in which he presents himself as the tenth descendant (十代孫, jūdai-mago) of Hōki no Kami (伯耆守) Nobutaka, with the uji Fujiwara (藤原) before the name; the title belonged to the ancestor, not to him. He worked in Owari, and one of his blades is dated to the second month of Meiji 2 (1869). The reference works consulted record no further data about him.
