Lineage: the signature does not state the generation

Profile

Settsu no Kami Tadayuki is a smith name of Ōsaka shintō borne by several generations. The Kaihō Kenjaku of 1797 ranks the first yoki-wazamono, among the best-cutting smiths of his time. According to the Japanese Wikipedia, the first was a younger brother of Ōmi no Kami Tadatsuna, though it is not known which of the two Tadatsuna, and his work, in nie with ō-notare and midare, is very close to that of Ikkanshi Tadatsuna. He signed with the surname Fujiwara, 摂津守藤原忠行 (Settsu no Kami Fujiwara Tadayuki), and his successors with Minamoto.
