Ko-Bizen in general

For the Ko-Bizen in general, Nagayama’s study collected by the Japanese Sword Index gives as kantei traits chōji-midare in nioi-deki, a mokume hada and utsuri.

A Tsunetsugu of Aoe, for comparison

The tachi signed “Tsunetsugu” at the Kyūshū National Museum, from Bitchū, measures 75.6 cm with 3.0 of sori: shinogi-zukuri and chū-kissaki, a tight ko-itame with mokume, a somewhat deep nioi suguha and a round bōshi; the nakago is ubu, with the tachi signature towards the mune and not in the centre, and ōsujikai yasurime. Its record says that these are traits common to the Aoe of the end of the Kamakura.
